1. This advertising service is available to local authorities within Leicestershire, including County, District and Borough Councils and local authority schools.
2. All items posted on this site are to be free with no trading to take place.
3. Freeuse LA is provided for the reuse of local authority and school property/items within and between the local authorities and schools. No personal / non-work related items can be offered on the site and no items can be taken for personal / non-work related use.
4. Only items of no or negligible value should be offered for reuse. The cost of legally disposing of the item can also be taken into account when deciding if giving the item for reuse is the best value option.
5. Staff are required to get permission from their manager and/or Departmental Procurement Officer and/or other appropriate manager to place item(s) on the Freeuse LA site.
6. All local authority and school staff who intend to use the site must register to the site, providing their name, job title, Local Authority /School name, contact telephone number and work email address.
7. The person / organisation taking the item(s) accept the goods at their own discretion on a 'buyer beware' basis. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership or any of its members shall not be liable for any errors contained in postings.
8. The person / organisation taking the item(s) will be responsible for collecting the item and incurring any cost involved unless a separate arrangement is made between the giver and taker.
9. Any personal information included in the posting is the person’s / organisation’s responsibility and they should assess any risks involved in including such information.
10. The person / organisation offering the item(s) is entirely responsible for the information and description of the item(s) posted.
11. Staff / organisations use the website and service at their own risk. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members offer this website as an 'as is' or 'as available' basis without any warranties of any kind. All express and implied warranties including without limitation the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of proprietary rights are expressly disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Under no circumstances shall the Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership or its members be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages resulting from any aspect of your use of this website and service.
13. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members reserve the right to remove any posting for any reason whatsoever.
14. All items posted on this site must comply with relevant legislation and it is the “givers” responsibility to ensure this. The following items are not permitted to be posted and will be removed in accordance with Condition 11:

    • Pornographic or adult material
    • Live animals or pets
    • Offensive materials
    • Drugs, whether prescription or controlled
    • Food products
    • Hazardous materials
    • Goods intending to encourage illegal acts
    • Fireworks and Explosives
    • Weapons
    • Solvents and Glue
15. Staff / organisations shall not post any materials that constitute any form of advertising, consultancy or solutions.
16. Staff / organisations shall not post any items that promote or glorify hatred, violence, racial or religious intolerance.
17. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members reserve the right to use any information provided for statistical purposes or any requirement by law.
18. Staff not complying with these terms and conditions may be subject to disciplinary action under their local contract of employment.
19. Any copyright and other intellectual property rights contained in this website remain the property of Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members and in using the website you shall respect such rights.
20. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members reserve the right to renew and vary these terms and conditions at any time and for whatever reason. The terms and conditions displayed at the time of posting shall be deemed to be the relevant terms and conditions in respect of your posting.
21. Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Waste Partnership and its members reserve the right to terminate this service at any time.
